Heart 2 Heart Challenge: Wishes - CityScape (Take #2)

Okay, so I liked the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Wishes - CityScape sketch so much I decided to try it again.  Here's what I came up with it.

CityScape Take #2

So for the second try I decided to maintain my previous card size of 3-1/4" x 6-1/2".  Paper and color changes occurred as well with the exception of Sweet Leaf, I'm really feeling this color right now.

Supplies:
Stamps: Close to my Heart Always in my Heart
Ink:  Stampin' UP! Chocolate Chip Craft Ink

Coupon frenzy

So I went to the Michaels President Day sale today.  Those 50% off coupons just burn straight through my wallet.  I had four of those suckers ... poor David he is such a trooper when it comes to me and this hobby.  He supports me so much, listens to me talk on and on about paper lines, card stock colors, inks, techniques, you name it.  So for the shopping assault on Michaels I was to go in scope everything out pick out what I wanted mindful of using my four 50% and two 20% total purchase coupons -- then phone David and have him and the kids come in.  So sad, I know.

Well, I walked out with some great things but one item totally perplexes me, I have no idea what I was thinking.  I bought this 12X24 K&Company Designer Paper Pad from the new Handmade collection.  12X24?  Huh?  You see it was 30% off and then I had the 20% total purchase coupon ... it was 50% off.  I mean 50%.  Now I have 36 sheets of K&Company paper which I traditionally despise that when cut to 12x12 will be 72 sheets of paper.  HUH?  Those coupons can make you loose your damn mind.  For the rest of the day I kept saying to David that I should take this paper pad back - he wouldn't have it.  So tonight I sit here looking at a 12x24 paper pad that I don't know what I am going to do with and more importantly where I am going to store it.

Thanks for looking and yes HE stamps.

The very first card

The first card created for my beautiful new granddaughter Caroline. As per my usual mode the card is CASEd heavily this time from the very talented Devlinwhite on SCS. I also choose to try a easel card which was incredibly simple to do (check SCS for all the details.) I really liked how she created a background using portions of tree stamps. This was the first time I attempted to do anything other than creating dots with the Uni-ball pen, as evidenced I certainly need lots more practice.

Recipe:
Stamps: SU Forest Friends, Fresh Cuts and Michaels Recollection Clear Stamps Sweet Baby Girl.

Cardstock: SU Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Mellow Moss, Whisper White.
Patterned Paper: Prints Pack (retired), Spring Fling DSP (retired).

Ink: SU Basic Black, Mellow Moss, Certainly Celery, Ruby Red

Accessories: Cuttlebug Photocorners die, Cricut, Sure Cuts A Lot, KutUps Dingbat from Clever Someday blog. Cetainly Celery 5/8" inch poly ribbon, Marvy Petite-Petals punch, Making Memories Vintage Findings Gem Pins, unknown manufacturer Gemstone, Uni-ball Signo White Pigment Ink pen, SU Scalloped Border punch.

As my last day quickly approaches with Stampin' UP! (11/01) I am trying to move into purchasing/considering other paper crafting manufacturers (although, to be honest today I am sitting here waiting for delivery of my FINAL SU demo order.) I have to confess that it's hard leaving SU my crafting heart will always have a soft spot for the products of the company but ... never mind I'm not going to get negative, it's just time for me to move on.
