Caprice Thought Away

Well, there's a mixed reaction around here with this card.  Some like and others don't.  So I'll post it and let you dear reader decide.  I used the retired Close to my Heart Caprice Level II paper pack for this one.  I couldn't find this paper anywhere on Ebay and just happen to mention on a forum that I was looking and within days had a full AND a half pack of it.  I really like the distressed Polynesian feel to this pack.

This card is for my sister-in-law Eileen who is in Florida undergoing chemotherapy treatments for her third bout with leukemia in a little over a year.  Eileen was originally diagnosed with breast cancer and is one of the rare cases who developed leukemia after treatment.  She is a strong woman who has been through a lot in her life and it's tough to know what she's going through.  I know this card won't alleviate much in the big picture but perhaps for one brief moment she will know that we're here in Connecticut thinking about her.

Swingin'

Here's another page for my grand-baby Caroline.  She is so adorable and looks so bright and awake in these pictures.  After my own heart she is holding on tight to that swing -- swings were never my favorite things growing up, particularly if some jerk got behind me and decided to push.  Unfortunately, I am having a bit of an issue with my Kodak EasyShare printer dock and color selections.  Since these printer docks have disappeared from the Kodak web store I am assuming they have been discontinued so it's day are numbered.  Technology just changes far too fast to keep up.

Lilac Birthday

Well, we'll see how this goes.  You see, I just wrote up a second posting for A Veranda Thanks thinking it was the card I just finished today.  Need I say things in Jewett City, CT have been difficult this week?  Children are being children I suppose but Uncle Be-bee is whipped out and feeling a bit drug out.  But somehow in the midst of all this I did manage to finish two projects.  The first, which I will post NOW is a card using the current Card Sketch on SCS.  I'm not actually sure about this card as far as the stamping and colors go but it was a bit of a respite from the craziness of this household.  Be kind, tough times are brewing round here.

Another Veranda Card

This card is based on the Card Sketch Challenge #271 from SCS.  I specifically CASEd this card from Life Happens afraid my CAS-ing is spot on.  This time I used more of the Close to my Heart Veranda Paper Packet, I can't recommend these papers enough.  I just bought the Creative Basics set which is an add-on and it has two other awesome papers for the Veranda collection.  Definitely, give it a look and if you need a CTMH consultant drop my friend Denise Ramo a line or visit her CTMH website.

A Veranda Thanks

Stamper in Training

A little over a year ago I scrapped these pictures in a 6x6 format, since then I have decided to abandon that size all together -- just too small.  For these pictures I have used the Close to my Heart Topstitch paper packet again, I am really loving this collection.  For my SCS forum friends this layout is almost completely CTMH with the exception of a few embellishments.

Inspired Paper Packet

As can be seen this card is a complete repeat of A Thought Away but I just got received another wonderful CTMH paper packet entitled Veranda and I had to try it with this card design. This paper remains me of all things deep south, sweltering hot summer days in big old houses, with thread bare rugs and gently fading wallpaper.    The Juniper and Creme Brulee color combination is so inviting to sit a spell on the porch or more appropriately the Veranda!  LOL

From the Lilac Avenue Collection

Another card today.  This was a get well card for my favorite aunt and uncle.  Not a lot to say, it came together super easy thanks to PaperCrafts Stamp It! magazine!  Got a chance to use some of the KaiserCraft Lilac Avenue Collection paper, it's a beautiful group of papers that I have yet to use much of -- kept waiting for spring.

A first

Well, this is the first card I have ever made from Close to my Heart products.  I have to confess that I was one of those people who simply did not think of CTMH for cards.  But I was wrong.  This card comes from the Topstitch Workshop to Go - which provides the papers and embellishments to make several scrapbooking layouts and numerous cards.  I adjusted the design of the card a bit from the instructions and used my nifty Making Memories Slice machine for the image shape.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.

Topstitch Happy Birthday
