Closings, goodbyes and moving on

Today, I made the decision to close HeStamps.com. At the moment I haven't reached a conclusion on the Stampin' UP! demo website. It's difficult to continue to throw money into an endeavour that isn't paying back in the least. My heart is heavy as I work through these decisions - I entered my demonstratorship with SU full of hope only to discover that the competition from within is so overwhelming it's unimaginable. Add to the prejudice against male demos and it's just not something one can easily fight against. So for the moment I will make the initial steps at ending extraneous costs and go from there.

I want to thank all the members of the SU Blogroll who visited my blog and offered encouragement. I never understood why everyone took their talent, support and left the roll but that's just life I suppose.

Ben

  1. I'm sorry to see you leaving your blog. I've seen your name on the Cricut boards and popped over to see your blog. Even though I've not posted a comment, I've enjoyed your creations. You have a LOT of talent. If you move on to another blog, please stop by mine to let me know so I can catch back up with you.

    All the best to you!!!

  2. I too am sad to see you go....I understand that you have to do what you have to do. I will soon be celebrating my 6th year with SU! and at first wasn't sure about how far I could take it, but please know that things can get better......:)
I hate to see someone who loves the hobby to leave so soon.
    Good luck.

  3. Oh Ben, I am so sorry that things have not gone as you had hoped. I think it is difficult right now for a lot of us with the economy being what it is. I haven't but a few orders from any of my many customers all year and have not been successful in getting anyone to rejoin club. I have been doing this for almost 7 years now and am unsure how long I will maintain my minimums as well. I love this hobby and can understand how difficult a decision this is for you. I will miss reading your posts and checking out your wonderful creations. I wish you all the best in whatever path you decide to take!
