Confessions and babies

I have a confession ... I tend to be dramatic. Not quite 12 year old girl dramatic but pretty close. I have always been like this. Stomping my feet and taking my toys home would probably describe me on most days of the week.

It's been a hard month. I have been diligently trying to get a Marker Share Club going and when I finally realized that the universe or more precisely our wonderful economy was telling me to give it up -- I did but with much kicking and whining. This SU thing is a tough nut to crack. So my previous post was titled ... well you can read it for yourself. After a few days away, a birthday (yes me) and good conversation with some wonderful people in my life (you know who you are.) I have decided to NOT make any decision at the moment.

As for this blog, I am so unhappy with it's appearance (don't even get me started about all those simple 3-column tutorials out there.) I am thinking going somewhere where it's easier (and quicker) to get things done. Time will tell on that one.

Now for my exciting news! My daughter Julie (pictured at 12 months in 1980) is going to have a baby. Jules is going to have a baby girl in October. I am so excited, thrilled and worried for her. I mean I have no doubt that she can do it, handle it and all that but my baby girl is having a baby. It's so surreal.

I volunteered to do the invitation for the baby shower and you should see my workspace. Looks like a cyclone hit it. So far I have mocked up three different designs and I'm not happy with any of them. I have ordered stamps, bought stamps (returned stamps) and ordered more stamps trying to find the perfect images for such an important card (at least it's important in my world.) As we get nearer I'll share some and beg for true evaluations. I just want this invitation to be unique, represent what one can do with Stampin' UP! products and please my daughter and the hostess Kerri (her best friend.) Oh and btw they'll be no Grandpa's here, GrandDad will do nicely (vain is my name.)

Well, other than saying I cannot believe the summer is almost over. Michaels has Halloween stuff out already!?! I hope that you had a wonderful fourth of July and that the rest of the summer brings you good health and tons of summer sun.

Thanks for looking and yes HE stamps!

  2. Many congratulations to you, GrandDad! It's amazing how quickly our kids grow up - your daughter's baby picture is so precious! Your decision regarding SU is good news... I think this economy is hard on all of us in some fashion, so I try not to get discouraged (but it's hard sometimes). I look forward to you sharing your shower invitations. Take care!
