Wonderful Mother

So, here's my first take at a Mother's Day card.  These cards are never easy for me to make.  While my Mom appreciates handmade cards it ends there, scrapbooks and the like are just not received well by her ... not sure what that's about but I'm working hard to just accept it.  Mom can be a tough egg to crack sometimes, she likes to say one thing but actually feels/thinks a completely different thing.  Anyway, it's hard to do creative things when you worry that it might be unappreciated.  Sorry bout my moment of melancholy there ...

  2. Ben. It's beautiful.

Sometimes people just have a hard time expressing what is really inside them. If she appreciates them, then I would bet she really loves them and doesn't really know how to say it.

DH was raised in a family that just did not show emotion. He says he would love to go off and get excited like I do about stuff, but he just can't as much as he would love to.

So, I think your acceptance is the best you can do. But I know you always want to try to get more from her.

LOL It has become a game with our family. Everyone tries to see who will get dad to crack!!! LOL And now he plays along, too! LOL

But what an absolute beautiful card. Wish so badly I could do cards. I love them!!!

  8. Your card is gorgeous! I didn't even order Topstitch paper because all I saw was baby blue and pink, but I love it with the emphasis on the vineyard berry! Hope your mom likes it! You can at least know that lots of moms who see it online will love it!
